::definitely, maybe::

wanting to go pick strawberries, get postcards from london, deal with the yard that is out of control, wishing we'd have more thunderstorms, wanting to make my own sangria, stop forgetting to put the cream up after feeding the cat, start a dream journal.  btw, what happened to june?

::quietness::

  • i do and yet at the same time do not miss our computer.  am thinking it being broken is really a blessing in disguise.  (however, i am currently using husband's laptop from work).  i guess that makes me a liar!
  • i heart pixar.  loved wall*e.
  • windows are open and i am enjoying the warm summer breeze.
  • move a few more steps to my right, and we'd be living in nyc, right?
  • wishing i had a fairy godmother to whip this house into shape.
  • on hand for this afternoon - reading, xanadu, and iced hazelnut coffee.  not necessarily in that order!

am feeling like i'm at that awkward age between 5 and 60!  conversations, etc. scotch-taped together...

anyway, we went to buffalo over the weekend to the allentown art festival.  a bit like hubfest in hattiesburg.  spent way too much, but ate funnel cake, so it was totally worth it.  everyone still reeling from tim russert's death.

loved the new episode of weeds; but anxiously awaiting the return of the closer and burn notice.  currently listening to duffy's "mercy" and begging for more.

eight months ago we bought our current house.  8 months ago, i was still sane.  8 months ago i *used* to cook.  now, not so much.  even though we bought those expensive stainless steel appliances.  the house has turned into tom hanks & shelley long's *money pit* -- a 178 year old fixer-upper complete with mice.  i. am. freaking. out.  because i did not think we bought a dilapidated house.  we can't even afford non-affordable furniture.  but, hey, there is nothing a little chocolate or wine can't cure, right?  enjoy your weekend!

p.s. - did i mention our neighbors suck?

sex and the city (loved, loved, loved it!); rainy, misty afternoons; new kittie to warm my cold feet in the mornings; quenching my thirst with some new books from the library; summer cocktails outside on the porch; listening to the bryant park project on npr; dying for a wedding cake snow cone.  happy crazy weekend to everyone!!

  • two steps forward, a gazillion steps backward...

::pollergies::

when the pollen count is higher than my favorite thread count, allergies need a new name!  i thought when we traded in the hurricanes for snow, we would be leaving behind that dreaded yellow crap/dust that covers the entire state of mississippi.  (thank god we left behind the love bugs!); but, alas - new york has its fair share of pine trees.  i lost count at 4 just in our backyard.  needless to say, i have been miserable.  however, my sam comes home in a few days before jetting off to london.  i get her long enough to catch up on movies, lost, the tudors, gossip, girl stuff, walks, japanese food, ice cream, and starbucks coffee (even if we have to drive 45 minutes to get there).  new york is insane!

*get some direct sunlight - but wait, weather.com actually had the audacity to call for snow showers. (insert tiny sobs here)

*come up with a summer reading list

*figure out how to make a MUXTAPE.

*find a way to get neil diamond tickets!

*remember to breathe!

while i continue to try and snap out of my funk, mother nature continues to help.  our backyard is a sea of color...
